Detective Conan Zeppelin ride over Tokyo

There was a zeppelin circling all over central Tokyo this past weekend, which was obviously advertising the soon-to-open “Detective Conan” (名探偵 コナン) movie: “The Lost Ship in the Sky” (which seems to be the official English title for the Japanese 名探偵コ ナン 天空の難破船). (I don’t know why they didn’t use “Shipwreck in the Sky” or something like that, but that’s a separate story.)

Anyway, the movie opens here on April 17, so, in conjunction with that, there is a “Detective Conan Dream Cruise” campaign: you can pay ¥63,000 per person (about $675 US) for a 40 minute cruise around Tokyo (the price is slightly higher for the night cruise). The cruise is on NAC’s Zeppelin NT, the worlds largest airship (at 75m long, it is longer than a 747) and NAC’s is one of only three in use in the world.

I happen to live fairly close to the landing/take-off point, so, when I was out for a walk on Saturday, I took a few photos:

What not to name your company

This made me laugh the other day as I was walking through Ginza:

Bigot

If you look closely, you can see that it is a van belonging to a patisserie/boulangerie, so I am not sure if the name is meant to imply that they are “religiously devoted” to baking the best breads and pastries they can, or if it is named after a Monsieur Bigot, or if they are just a collective of intolerant bakers…

Hmmm…
